I have to agree with HD on one thing, Christmas is about the
time we spend together with family and phriends! We get so
caught up in all the commercialism of the season that we
don't have time to enjoy the best part. Hope everyone takes
it easy tomorrow and that we can all realize how special
this time of year really is! Happy Holidays to everyone on
the beach!

To Ralph and Rob: I am delighted that 12/25 is both
Jesus's and Jimmy's birthday. I am not delighted that we
have become a society when we forget that it's important
to remember the reason for the season and life becomes
total chaos and are reduced to spending a plethora of
dinero. I reckon my family will have a fandamntabulous
Christmas this year, but it is my full intent to tell them
that in future years, we will not have all these gifts, we
will instead, enjoy that we are all together, and be
limited to one small gift to each other rather than this
psycho spending spree. The key will be to make that gift
as inexpensive as possible, and yet as meaningful as
possible. It will be a quest. Oh yeah, and I'll put
rubber sheets on the guest bed too. LOL!

Merry Christmas to you all and to Jimmy too.

Just droppin by to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday
season and my best wishes for the coming New Year. Nothin
to do here in WI so Snake and I are going to start the New
Year off cruisin the Potomac with Hugo and the WAPHC on New
Years Eve. We're nervous about flying into DC just after
the change to "orange" but have hope the "friendly skys"
remain that way through the season and beyond. As Jimmy
says,..... "I'd rather die while I'm livin' than live while
I'm dead". After NYE it's off to New England PHC's "Rag Top
Daze" convention in Feb. That sounds like a great time!
Then cruisin to the Banana Republic with the Atlanta PHC in
March. Pyrate Jan needs a hhhhholiday! Right PJ! Not gonna
let this cold and snow get us down.
Will try to get to chat Tues. Keep forgettin'it's moved.

Sun, can I trade you snow for a 3 yr old grandchild? The
brat has peed in two beds (in one night) and filled my
laptop with diet coke. This is in a 24 hour period. I am
about to turn into the total Grinch here which is sad. My
childrens birthday is tomorrow... so I guess I'll just
grit my teeth and remember that I almost lost those darlin
sweet lives 25 years ago.

I hate Christmas.

Well, Parrot Heads, another year, another Thanksgiving. I
hope you all have a wonderful day filled with family and
friends. Shoot, maybe you can even find room for some food
at the table. If you can, that's reason enough to give
thanks. Lots of people won't be able to do that this year.
Let's remember them when we're giving thanks today. And
all the other people who are less fortunate than we are. I
say it every year, but we do have so much to be thankful
for. Have a beautiful day!

Hey guys- it was nice to meet all of you. Had a blast at
MOTM - as always! Can't wait for next year! As always, I
had my one night of "sickness" and slept for about 16
hours! I'm sure I missed out on a poopload of stuff during
that time. I have to learn that nasty four letter word -
PACE. I seemto have problems with it!

Hope everyone made it home safe and sound and not too
sick, I was myself and have heard from several who were
also. Seems to over do it every year and the recovery time
is longer than the partying time!

Loved Hurricane's pictures - as always. I'll have to check
out the VPHC ones!

just those "kodak" moments that should not be lost

It was great seeing old faces again. Sorry Bob and I stayed
in our own little world. It was his first Parrot Head event
ever and I had to drag him to the Mother of them all....the
last thing I wanted was him thinking I abandonned him or
something when he doesn't know anyone, not good, not good.
So I pretty much stuck by his side. Next year Bob plans to
volunteer for Security and we'll have a 4 month old 'keet
with us :-)

take care all!

This was my Sixth MOTM, but my first as a Virtual PH (I
think I have found me a home). I really enjoyed the
Meet&Greet; Saturday, I would have loved to have met
everyone there, I hope it will become a standard each year,
and make everyone do something si))y like stand up and
introduce themselves. I love the name tags and T-shirts, I
wore mine proudly, thanks to all the people that put the
hard work into them! I want one of those Balcony Rooms so
the Virtural PH can get in on the Decorate Contest! Plus
what a great place to party! Well, I'm going back to bed,
figures I'd get sick on the way home, or am I just still
hung over?? Judy B

The VPHC Meet and Greet was much fun...glad you could all

chairs. :) A special thanks to everyone that helped with
the event and getting the club tees to the deck for
distribution. Michele couldn't have done it without you

What do you guys think Ol' Remit can't get to a computer to

Well, congratulations to the Marlins...the Yankess are
truly in for a rude awakening when big fat George gets a
hold of them privately!! Much adjustment needed....it
showed more than once towards the end of the series....and
I'm only being gratious because Honey Do did save my tail
from being whipped by the Lauderdale Locals yesterday at
the "whale's rib"........

Well Dolphins play tonight and I'll feel a little bit more
comfortable because I do sort of favor that team...finally
I can cheer beside a "Fish" fan.

MOTM awaits us people......off to the keys Wednesday
early...people are starting to trickle in off the planes as
I type this and some will be meeting with us here in
Lauderdale tonight...........

So a truly last Pick 'O' the week goes out to all making
the pilgrimage this week to the land of "Buffett Plenty"....

Since St. Somewhere will not be gracing the stages of Key
West this year for us and the possiblity of Matt doing this
one solo is slim I'd like to send out a big "Pineapple
Willies" to all making the quest for fun with
Phriends......safe passage everyone.................see you

GOing to different places and naturally EVERYONE was
talking about the Marlins and how glad they are that they
beat those damn yankmes! Lot's of comments about rude
obnoxious new yorkers and how they're eating crow! It was
too funny! I was going to stand up and say "hey, got a

Tomorrow is crunch day for us. Leaving right after Bob gets

I can get my Margaritaville passport stamped. Then to Miami
Beach for the night. Alabama Jacks 11 am sharp come Tues
morning. This is Bob's first parrot head event so I'm sure
he's in for a huge culture shock. I already warned him that
he'll be listening to 26 hours of Buffett in the car during
the drive down (hey, it gets me in the mood)

least dream about Key Lime Shooters, can't I?

And Steve, Bob and I are rooting for the Marlins. See,
being from Chicago, well, if the Marlins win, then we can
say the Cubbies were beat by the best as oppose to the
second best if the Yankees win. But the dogs were Astros
fans all the way!

Thank you for the pats on the back for the design, it was a
pleasure to enter the contest and give it a whirl for such
great people and a great club...Thanks Sun-SHINE for the
tweaks and input after the design was chosen.

I'll be landing in Lauderdale this Saturday morning where
I'll stay until Wednesday morning. This year my trek and
stay in Key West will have a Vegas/D.C flavor to it. Yes my
Canadian Cohorts will be taking a back seat this year,
which means Remit will be "out of the Pink" so to speak.

See you all at the following - The Morris Welcome party /
The listserv / the Mayer-Kirby-Hugo Shows / Texas Sail /
The street fest / and of course the Meet and Greet at the
Beach Bash ending with the Morris no plane party.....

There will be some NFL partying on that Sunday for LabRat
and Wyldman to consider....we'll discuss at the Meet and
Greet....

This will be 5 in a row for me, and I've decided not to
call it my last as of yet...............Wyldman hope you
get your Benihanna in, I prefer Denny's for bfast each
morning followed by Bloody Mary's poolside till lunch!

don't fret Jan. Most prolly thought it was an accidental
double posting. But if your computer has headed for the
Keys, who wrote the last post with your name on it?
hmm.....now that's scary....

Here's the reader's digest version of me and Bob:

We were high school sweethearts, each other's first high
school date, first boyfriend/girlfriend experience, first
love, etc. Our first date was to the Homecoming Dance but
he forgot the tickets in his locker. We couldn't find the
janitor that night so we went to a movie instead. We were
the best dressed couple there, that's for sure! No, neither
of us remember the name of the movie.

Due to circumstances beyond our control were separate in a
little shuffle. We ran into each other a couple of times as
young adults but neither knew the other was willing to get
back together.

It turns out our entire adult lives were filled with hits
and misses, living in the same apartment complex at the
same time but one building apart and never running into
each other; he worked at a gas station I frequented in the
morning (he worked the graveyard shift); one time he put an
ad in the Valentine personals searching for me - which I
saw - but I didn't know how to reply back; stuff like that.

Well, he finally got with the 21st century, meaning he
finally bought a computer. Went online to a high school
reunion site, found me listed and sent an email to me. Once
he verified it was me, he was on a plane to Houston, he's
been here ever since, we got married not too long ago, and
the pregnancy is early, 4 weeks. We're just happy we caught
it early before KW and I drink myself silly like I usually
do.....

:)

hey everyone. Glad to see so many excited about MOTM this
year. It'll be nice to put a face to the members I chatted
with in Lab's room before my store took away my time and my
weekends, and refresh old friendships and memories.

This will be my last MOTM (Bob's first and last). Don't
worry, we're not upset about it and it's not a bad thing
either. It's just that Bob and I have been busy making
parakeets lately and we just found out we're pregnant. Bob
gets to drink, I don't (he'll probably not let me forget it
either). I just came to the realization that this will be
the first parrot head event that I don't get to drink. I'm
feeling the withdrawals already. Ok, I'll be sober and
walking around with the blackmail camera so don't do
anything around me you don't want on film, hehehehehehehe

has to be "Key West Heart"....and if anyone is curious

Remit, I do agree... AOHELL should be ditched. But, to
each his own. Anyway.. I'm Hurricane and I'm well known
for my hat, my verbosity, and most of all, for my love of
friends. Hope y'all will be my friends too! I've earned
my island name and I hope to see bunches of y'all on the
Texas Sunset Sail at MOTM!

LOL! Remit you will be missed her in Cincy, but remember
there is always room for 1 more. Cherry Bombs are prime,
best batch yet; a little gentler than the batch couple
years back. :) Love your pick of the week, keep em
coming.

For the rest of you parrot heads, look for members of
the VPHC and Cincy clubs in the parking lot across from the
race track, I won't be able to get there until after 4pm
but if you want to stop by, I'll buy you a "Blue Rita"
thats "Tarantula Azul" aka the Blue Margarita.
Fins way up!

Thanks for the invite Sun-SHINE...you are the best! I will
have to bow out this year for the OHIO area but wish you
all a great tailgate and show!!
Soooooooo since things seem to heating up in here once
again it may be time to dust off Remit's old Pick'O'the
Week, let's send the Cincy crowd off with an old favorite
of mine that Jimmy just dusted off again to place on his
new compilation CD - "MIGRATION" with a chorus like "Yeah,
that's why it's still a mystery to me, why some people live
like they do, so many nice things happening out there,
never seen the clues. Whooooooooah so right! So all you
Migrating with Sun to the Cincy show on
Tuesday..........ENJOY and watch out for the "Cherry Bombs"

Hey all you remote Parrot Heads, I'm Judy B. from Hillbilly
Beach West Point, Kentucky, and I'm excited to be joining
the VPHC (long overdue). I'll also have a ontourage of
about 40 people going to the Cinncy Concert this year
and "Sun" looks like we're gonna be neighbors there, ain't
you excited? Just look for the "largest Tiki Hut" in the
lot, a 3' shark fin, a 6' walking, talking Parrot, and a
few Pirates, that'll be us! We'll be arriving sometime
Monday evening and we ain't leaving till Bubba's long
gone! Yee-HA, we're gonna have a party! But seriously
folks, I've been a Parrot Head for twelve or so years and
I'm looking forward to being a "bone-afied Parrot Head"
once again. Everybody In The Pool! Clothes optional!

Hey all you VPHC members coming to the Cincinnati Concert.
Join in the VPHC phlocking, in the parking lot across from
River Downs. Look for the "Tarantula Azul" with VPHC
written on it.

In an effort to support the Cincy PHC's campaign "Light up
the Night" another attempt to get Jimmy to give us 2 nights
of great music please wear you glow and/or blinky jewels.
No laser lights please; a request from both the venue and
Jimmy.

See you in the parking lot.
Fins!

Lab, you rule! This is totally awesome. I think we have
given this club the transfusion it needed. Thank you,
thank you, thank you. Hopefully, the old members will
follow in the new wake. They carried the load for so very
long. I do see a new day dawning. This club was never
intended to be just for people to be able to get into
MotM. Perhaps, now we will truly be able to party with a
purpose! I'll bet it is five o'clock somewhere!
